Greater Participation of Women in Politics

LokSatta Party's web site with JP's bolg includes a post "Dr. JP Calls for Greater Participation of Women in Politics"(on Feb 2, 2007 )

It says that more woman participation is needed. But to demonstrate what has been advocated to public, should have been demonstrated with the spouses of their active party men also participating in the active politics. But wives of most(or all?) of the senior party members like Mr Verma or Bandaru Ramamohan Rao are not actively seen in Lok Satta Party activities or campaigns!

Lok Satta Party was started on Gandhi Jayanti. Kastura was an active participant of Gandhi's activities.

The Mahila Satta isn't really impresive with the exuberance of Change for betterment that is seen in JayaPrakash Narayan gaaru. With all the apologies one gets an impression of attending a Perantam or some middle class Kitty.

I think we can clearly see the differece between giving and rightfully getting. The Mahila Satta are given the opportunity.

Why Dr JayaPrakash or Lok Satta Party doesn't think of making women "leaders" by rigorous training? The hotch potch 2 or 3 days training is not sufficient to make a real impact except for filling the numbers. People like me expect Dr Jayaprakash Narayan of Lok Satta think differently in all the aspects and initiate new culture in the women politics.

A BPO - call centre ensures that its employee get sufficient training and checks their imparted skills by testing them on the feild. A micro finance venture trains its enterprenuers to ensure success and leadership. But in no political party do we see such professional training.

When we hear Dr JayaPrakash talking about "to change the rules of political engagement" or "Redefining Politics", people look forward to see some real innovative things in the party.
